Self-pay versus insurance
Your laboratory bill is separate from the consultation. Confirm your payment choice and expected total before the sample is collected. For self-pay testing, the current laboratory price applies; collection, reflex testing and other charges may add to the listed fee.
Carroll Health & Wellness does not bill insurance for consultations. A laboratory may bill your plan separately, depending on your coverage, the ordered tests and its network arrangements. Deductibles or other charges may apply; these self-pay prices do not estimate insurance costs.
If you want to avoid a laboratory insurance claim, discuss self-pay and communication preferences with the laboratory before testing. An outside claim may generate an explanation of benefits (EOB).
BioReference Collection Locations
The locations listed below are BioReference locations. You are not required to use BioReference. You may use another laboratory that accepts your order, including Labcorp or Quest Diagnostics. Other laboratories set their own prices, insurance policies, specimen requirements, appointment rules and collection availability.

Have the order Robert provides through your patient portal. Confirm that the location accepts it and your payment choice. Use a digital or phone-displayed copy if accepted; print it if paper is required.
Follow your test-specific preparation instructions. Not every test requires fasting. Do not stop medicines unless your clinician instructs you to do so.
Tell the practice through the portal where and when testing is completed. Ask the laboratory to use the result-return instructions on the order.
BioReference visit preparation
Carroll Health & Wellness tracks its orders, reviews received results and communicates next steps. Related results follow-up is included in your $123 consultation. If an expected result has not appeared, contact the practice through your portal rather than assuming it is normal.
